Using a USB Hub?
Hi All
2nd post post of the day (and ever!). Has anyone (or is it possible to) use a USB Hub in the XC90 (new model). Ones like this... https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=usb+hub&ref=nb_sb_noss_1 Problem I'm trying to solve - 1 USB stick with new music - 1 USB stick with ALL music - 1 (or more) USB ports for charging phone / using Android Auto I need more than 2 ports is due to limitations in how music is played in Sensus. I need 2 USB sticks of music as it seems Sensus doesn't allow you to use playlists or folders or sort the music by date modified (so I have newer music at the top) Cheers! |

I connected a USB-2 hub and Sensus simultaneously recognised an old iPod, a USB stick and my phone. I haven't tried two USB sticks however. _

it would be best to buy one which is powered by a 12v supply , the standard car USB socket will only output 500ma ..

I constantly use a USB hub. It's a bog standard 4 port unpowered hub plugged into the single USB socket that my MY 17 V90 is fitted with. When USB is selected I'm given the option of 4 USBs and can select any of the four. After that what comes out is dependent upon how and what has been loaded onto the individual sticks. All I know is that it works, don't ask how. Hey, I still have a 78 rpm wind up gramophone in the house.

Without being too flippant Lexman I'm sure that the photograph doesn't show how you drive around with all your attachments in the car. One serious question though. Where do you put these things in real life as I'm looking at expanding my single USB equipped cabin but am struggling to fathom out the best way to do it whilst keeping things tidy and safe?

Everything, with the exception of the phone, goes in the central armrest storage compartment. I almost never access it as there's nothing much else is in there. It's best to use the shortest cables you can find.
I always connect the phone via Bluetooth and on the odd occasion I need to charge it I use one of the 12v outlets, both of which have dual USB power adapters fitted.
