DSTC turn off
i dont know if this is common knowledge (i could never find it anyways) but after having snow a while ago the car could barely get up a shallow incline because it was sliding on the snow the dstc was kicking in. asked volvo a couple of times since (with the first reply being its too new, we don't know) how to turn it off in that instance as it is kind of pathetic not being able to go up a slight slope. well anyways, finally got an answer which is:
scroll to dstc in the info centre and click reset. this then allows you to turn it off/on although for day to day driving its recommended to leave on. |

DSTC turn on!
This on/off info came in handy recently. As the car's computer informed me that DSTC was "temporary" turned off when starting the car and slowly driving out of a car park. After a couple of minutes driving I used the reset button to switch it back on, and it came on with no repeat so far.
So thanks for the info, but I would also be interested if anyone has had this message and what the outcome was. At the moment unless it recurs I will not do anything. |

You can't actually turn DSTC off completely in the later cars Even once it tells you that it is "off", it's fibbing, it just alters the thresholds and the amount of interference it supplies.
