'long throw' parking on Powershift auto?
When I choose "park" on my v60 with Powershift auto, it will roll a good 12-18 inches as park engages, like my brother's old 1976 Rover. Is there a known problem with gearbox or engine mounts on the v60?

It's made by Ford, that should tell you what you need to know 😊

That’s poor driving practice - when coming to a stop you should always apply the parking brake and then release the foot brake before putting into P. The gearbox is not intended to replace the parking brake.
The rolling is not the gearbox, it’s play in the driveshaft, differential, engine mounts etc. the geartronic boxes do exactly the same.

Yep. If you rely on the transmission to do all the work when parking, then that puts strain on it. Use the handbrake before you put it in "P"... a handbrake is cheaper to repair than a transmission.

Well I never. After 4 decades of driving, havinghad 6 citroens, ten Mercs, a couple of Audis and a hoofing great Touareg, I had to come here to find out that all their perk brake behaviours are "bad technique". Well strap me to an oilrig and whip me with seaweed.
