RHD CR-4024 Head Unit Wanted
Pretty self-explanatory, I was poking around in my unit (which was slowly failing) and one slip of the hand later and half the circuitry is gone. If anyone has one going spare then email abrotzman4598@gmail.com. I will consider other units that mount in the top slot of the dash (above the vents) but a CR-4024 would be my preference.
Cheers, Adam |

It's a shame indeed, Lucien. On the plus side, I do have plenty more stuff to write-up, and a 20-minute video from when it was still working. Unfortunately though, that unit is probably toast. I'll put it back in the car for now without the fuses installed (I'm not risking blowing up bits on the car side), and think about how I want to proceed.
On a side note, those units are really not serviceable, it's very much like the construction process was intended to be one-way: integrated fascia, lots of wires soldered and not on connectors, many of the screws very hard to remove (although that could just be old age), and some of the components are very bespoke. Ah well... I'm sure the disappointment and embarrassment will fade 😂 |
