Default Sunroof rattle

Hi all

I noticed a rattle the other day while driving and realised it was the sunroof. After closer inspection it seems like it's where the sunroof bolts to the frame work that the torx bits are a little loose.
Now my problem is I have no idea how to get in there as those plastic zigzag thingies are in the way. How do I get around these? Haynes says I need to take it to a specialist, I thought that's why people buy their manuals, so we don't have to

Rules,
The accordion needs to be pulled away at the top edge , this will give you enough room to access the screws , I have attempted to attach a picture .

Thanks that helped a lot. There are 3 metal clips at the top and it just slips out. I didn't bother with the bottom as I could just bend them out of the way.

Unfortunately I found that that was not the problem. When the sun roof is fully closed and you press it up (physically against the glass) there is quite a bit of play.

I will have to have a thorough check over the weekend.

Default Sun roof

Hey Rules - I'm having the exact issue with my sunroof. Did you ever get this resolved? If so, how did you resolve it?

Kind regards,
Angelo

Now this is funny, ever since I bought my S60 the sunroof has the occasional rattle, and I have found that if I push the closed sunroof at the front passenger side there is no movement, but if push the front drivers side it moves up and down!

I cant see any missing bolts etc, and I can't see anywhere it is broken.

I really hope someone has a resolution to this problem, as at the moment I stop the rattle by driving around with the sliding blind closed, and that means I may as well not have a sunroof

this is getting interesting would all volvo owners with sunroofs, go and see if there is any up and down movement in the closed position on the drivers side
of the sunroof, that way we can see if it is a problem or it is meant to be.
please try
James

Default sunroof rattle

I've had this problem twice now, I'm planning to try to repair this morning.
Just waiting for the auto parts store to open. Will us 3M double sided trim tape for repair.
The rattle comes from the window (glass) itself. Open the sunroof, forward first and then tilt thde back up second. There is a metal strip glued to the front and back side of the undersurface of the glass. It comes unglued and rattles. One side maybe loose or the hole strip maybe loose. Both the front and back parts willl fail at some time. These parts must be put back in place or a fait rattle will continue when you drive over a big road bump. Be careful to get the trim back into the exact place they come from. Good Luck. Ron.
