As the title suggests, I want to band my 15" Volvo steel wheels but not quite sure how wide I can get away with without rubbing the arches, Im going to lower the car and don't want to start cutting arches or rolling... Any advice at all is much appreciated, thanks in advance!

How much are you intending to lower it and how? With 15" wheels you could go lower than most....

You don't want to roll or cut arches but you're not against cutting springs?

Logic......

I'm not against it, I just don't want all the extra work I'd rather band my steel's but have them a sensible width so I don't need to roll or cut the wheel wells, I was just wondering if anyone had fit steel wheels to their 940 and how wide they had them done to give me an idea so I can sort of gauge how wide to go

Volvo fitted 7x17 wheels with a 25mm offset as an option. It's a good place to start to see what will fit easily.
Have a search to see what wheels people have used. I think I remember someone fitting a 7.5 x 18 with a 30mm spacer on the back and 25mm on the front but these were front wheel drive offset wheels. Think they had to remove the plastic liners on the back though.

A lot will depend on tyre size.
