Default Hard to push pedal accelerator

Hi everyone. A few days ago I bought V70 1998 2.5 20v.
Checking on M3 , only goes up to 100 mph and also very hard to push accelerator pedal. I think my throttle body is a wire type. What do I need to check???

This will be the cable , you need a new one , it is fairly common on 850's after 100000 miles or so ..

There's a cable on a fly-by-wire car? Well I'll be blowed, you learn something every day. Sorry, I stand corrected! I thought the potentiometer for the throttle sender was at the top of the pedal assembly but my car's a non-ME7 older type so what do I know! In that case I bet you're right, stiff cable.

Cheers!

You wont have an electronic throttle on a 1998 model year you will have a cable ;-)

Far be it from me and all that, but a) his is a V70 and b) a 1998 model is going to be ME7 fly-by-wire throttle isn't it?

Nothing springs to mind regarding the fault, have you had a good look at the pedal mechanism, especially at the top - no carpet jamming it or anything?

I would think u need a new cable. Mine was very stiff and a new cable solved that. I think it cost around 30 pound for a new cable from the dealer.
