Another one is coming back...
Firstly apologies for those who think that I did not get onto this forum on the best terms.
Hopefully I can redeem myself by letting you all know the great news that another 221 is coming back to the road after 10 years in a barn. After my first search I have now found a real corker. A rock solid, never welded, no filler '65 221, with overdrive; owned for 20 years by a super careful, car restorer owner. Needs re-commissioning but did start first time. 10,000 miles in the last 20 years! Virtually no rust (only a bit on the rear wheel arches & bottom of one rear window seal). The original paint a lovely patina. Does have a small dent in one door though. Images http://www.flickr.com/photos/1185877...7623386865641/ |

Well done that man, particularly after your unfortunate experience with the two-tone estate.
Good luck with the Resto Dave |

Nice one! Good colour for an estate too... I hope you enjoy it.
Tell us how you found it! Was it advertised somewhere? I love stories like this...... Last edited by swedishandgerman; Feb 26th, 2010 at 14:40. |

The chap I bought it off was a right character. Restores old houses & antique furniture. Such a nice person. He had this huge (immense) woodwork shop & when you went through a secret door at the back you end up in his 'pub'. Bit like Mr Benn. He brews his own beer & gets the lads over for a session regularly. The pub was choca with, well, stuff everywhere. Refers to himself as a bit of a Magpie. No sh*t Sherlock! It was like a museum. The Morris he restored 8 years ago & has only driven in 100 miles since. We was going to "stick a mattress & the wife in the back & live in Dorset for two months, never got round to it see" The 201 is an immaculate pickup truck. Nice badge. |

Well done Telboy. Looks a cracker and your man seems quite a character. You have redeemed yourself. Welcome.
