285mm to 305mm discs
For the 1st time since getting my S60 I had to do an emergency stop yesterday & to be honest the braking left me a bit frightened with it's performance . This made me do the disc measure & I have found out I have 285mm discs, does anyone know what is required to convert to 305mm & an approx price ? has anyone done this conversion.

You can change the discs to the larger size but need the brackets for the disc callipers. I think I saw some for say on ebay. Search the forum for more infoi. I think this topic has been recently covered.

Thanks, just had a look at the ones on ebay that you mentioned! Are they expensive at £80?? I did a search before posting this topic but didn't really bring anything up.

Very surprised you found the brakes frightening ..i got 285mm too..i ave found Volvo brakes to be some the best around you the EBa system kicking in to help...what kind od speed where you doing when using the emergency brakes?..on the M6 i slammed on the anchors and nearly stood the car on its nose and even after releasing pedal i noticed car was still braking until the point i touched the pedals again..i would get the brakes checked just incase..

Every cars brakes (newish cars) should be able to at least stop the car once perfectly from an emergency stop from 70mph to 0.
I would get your brakes checked first. |

My S60 D5 has the smaller discs and had no problems and I don`t hang about on the roads. I just wonder if its the type of pads in the car. Could make a difference.
