Default XC70 - Polestar at 90,000 miles??????

My 2010 XC70 (205) needs is aircon looking at. While in the dealers would it be worth having the Polestar upgrade fitted with 90K on the clock. The car is well maintained and runs well - except for the aircon!

Yes, no issue with the car & 90K miles, but rather depends on what the cost is (at least it would to me). If too high, and I wanted the performance boost (like optimisation, but much cheaper ) then I'd be looking at outfits like Celtic for a remap.

I had Polestar on my XC90 D5, can highly recommend it. It integrates the gearbox program like no one else has managed, so while you can get maps with a little more peak shove none are as smooth and seamless as the Polestar one.

I had my V70 D3 boosted (not Polestar as unavailable from them, but to a similar power output as the D3 available (as a D4) in V50s in 2011) - mileage then, 110,000, now 160,000. It revolutionised the drive and I would do it again every time. With a free flow exhaust (BSR) and air filter (ITG) I have a car that drives really nicely, with plenty of pick up and go.

Got it put on mine earlier in the year at 180,000. No problems.

Got it at Lloyd volvo in Carlisle when they were doing their cheap offer. Possibly worth calling around to see if there are any offers around.

It's a shame they don't do a Polestar for the 163 D3, I like the idea of the gearbox along with the engine getting tuned.

What would you be looking for from gearbox tuning?

I contacted Polestar about this a while back. They told me that for my 2010 D5 (205) they don't do anything to the gearbox as part of the 'optimisation'. This may be the case generally.
