Default Vida installation issues

Sorry to start yet another VIDA/dice topic but...

I'm trying to install 2013d and it gets to where it's saying "vida installation in progress. Please wait until the installation process is completed" and it just hangs. Windows seems to log off and log on but leaves the installation screen displayed the while time.

I've had to copy the files from the disc to my desktop and edit the amount of ram required for the install. Don't know if that makes any difference.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Cheers

Ta for the replies, I'm using a fresh install of Windows 7 ultimate, circa 2ghZ processor and 2gb of ram. Internet explorer 8

I've tried using xp mode but it won't let me up the ram from 256mb so it's dead slow.

Will have a look at the link now cheshired5, cheers

Ah! Vida near me

OK, So I'm being cheeky. Glad to hear you got it working. Is that on a Win7 machine?
I have a copy of the software, just nothing suitable to install in on yet. I've got a friend looking out for a second hand laptop going free (yes, he occasionally gets them from work).

XP mode is utter crap in 7. Get VMWare Player (it's free) and use that to make an XP guest environment. And stuff your machine with RAM like an xmas turkey - if your windows 7 ultimate is 64 bit then you can go as high as the machine itself will allow. Most of my ultimate machines here have 8, a few are on 32Gb - of RAM!

Process took almost 25 minutes when I saw it done. - Win xpPro SP3.
If you are trying to run on XP it MUST be xp PRO.
You also need to have an "uptodate" xp laptop with all the MSnet updates.
HOw you aquire these now I don't know.
I do know that members appear to have fewer problems with XP PRO set ups than trying to get some editions to install on Windows 7/8.
You might try stopping windows going into "sleep" mode if you think this could be an issue.
IIRC I also believe that if you run SKYPE you can't run VIDA on the same machine.
You might like to add what flavour windows you are running so that other can help you more.

Good luck
