Bumper removal for parking sensor install
Sorry I'm asking lots of questions tonight, but I've got another one for you all
I'm hopefully going to install an aftermarket parking sensor kit to my C70 over the weekend if I get time. My Haynes manual goes up to 1999 and shows how to remove the rear bumper on the C70 coupe, is the procedure the same for a 2002 convertible? I'm assuming it wouldn't have changed much. While we're on the subject, the kit came with a 22.5mm drill hole cutter, but I vaguely remember reading something about using a hole punch on the 70 series bumpers instead of a cutter. Has anyone tried a cutter on the bumper, I can't imagine it makes a big difference really?

Well I've got it all finished, and I must admit the sensors look good even if I do say so myself (can't upload a photo because I'm on my phone, how can I upload without my pc?)
If anyone is reading this in the future preparing to fit a kit themselves, my advice would be don't do it! This relatively simply job took forever! Admittedly I did waste some time on starting to take the bumper off and then deciding to do it in situ, but routing the cables through the polystyrene behind the bumper was a nightmare! The quickest one I did took 15 minutes if that, but one of them I spent a good couple of hours on it! The other 2 took about 30 minutes each. I did also spend some time sorting out the wiring the previous owner did, he's obviously had a reversing camera installed before but the wires were held together by gaffer tape!! I can't believe the revering light still worked, I'd be surprised if he ever got his camera working! The strange thing is the wires were all routed really well and don't show up anywhere, he just had no idea how to join them together! I also tried to take the small trim panels off under the lights and he's obviously just pulled them off before because all the tabs are snapped and then just glued them back on! Lol. I couldn't find my no more nails so I've had to glue then back on with evostick for now! Just hope it holds! Lol Anyway, I'm pleased I've got it done and I'm really pleased they look ok, but please, for your own sanity, pay someone else to fit them! Lol
