700/900 under body braces
I'm going to start making underbody braces soon.(got some spare time time this afternoon)I've made all my patterns, so Hopefully I'll get my jig made in the next week or two. They'll be mild steel I'm afraid! as I had intended on making stainless ones. But decided against it as the only stainless tube we have at work is too large a diameter. My cars lowered and I'm sure most people who will want a brace, there's will be as well. And space is tight!
They'll be extremely strong, far stronger than the ipd A shaped one. Mine will triangulate to the cross member like that one. But a stronger, better design. I'll post some pictures when I get my one done. I'm thinking £50 for the complete brace with triangulation bars and cross member strengthening plate (when I post pictures u will understand) or £25 for just the cross brace (like the standard w one) same diameter tube, but straight, and twice the wall thickness. So a hell of a lot stronger If you are interested let me know Cheers |

Haven't a clue! Someone who knows more about all the different engines, will probably tell you. But I would have thought so. I doubt there's much difference to the position of the engine and sump.

Will have to wait until you give dimensions then.

I'm sure someone will post something. Letting us know. The actual dimensions for the brace to fit across the two suspension pick up points, will be the same. I will be making the jig from the original w brace. The flat triangulating bars will have 12.5x18mm slots on both ends. And the cross member plate will be slotted as well. So there's any amount of room for differences. Not that I would have thought there would be. The cross bar will go across just under where the gearbox meets the engine. Can't see there being any difference there. The only thing that could possibly be a issue is if the diesels have a lower sump or a bit that juts out lower. Which could clash with the triangulating bars. But I doubt it to be honest.

Here's some photos to give u a better idea of what it'll be. I'm just using those bits of flat for reference. The proper ones will be thicker 40x8mm rather than 40x6mm which is what they are. They also won't have holes in like that. There off of my second bucket seat mount I'm making for my lotus sunbeam which I've I've been to busy to finish!
They'll be slotted both ends like that (not as close to the end as they are) also 12mm slots not 8mm. The broom handle represents where the straight bar will run. And the pattern is of the crossmember strengthener. The three slots are where it mounts to the crossmember, the two holes are for mounting the triangulating braces , and the large holes are to lighten it and look nice. Also the triangulating bars won't be pointing down like that. the lugs which will be welded to the cross bar (will be near the bottom if the tubes. So the triangulating bars run pretty much horizontal. Hope that makes sense Don't no why! It won't let me post more than one freekin picture Don't know what happened with that one!
