Default V40 D4 Performance

Hi guys,
A question for the experts, I have owned my 65 plate D4 since March this year & have always been really pleased with the performance of it. About 2 weeks ago I had the famous EGR light come on, it has been replaced & the software updated, but the car doesn't seem as responsive as it once was.

I took my sons Seat Leon FR 150bhp car out last night & when I put my foot down it seemed really responsive & quite nippy, I then took my D4 which has 190bhp out for a comparison drive & it doesn't seem to have the same get up & go from low revs.

Is this something I am imagining or has my car been altered in some way? Don't get me wrong it is still fast, it just doesn't seem to have the same zip as when I bought it.

Thanks in advance.

If it's an auto box it may have been reset or what ever they do, may need to re-learn your driving style I was told.

I had a D3 V40 as a courtesy car last time at the dealers and it was rather flat until you put it in sport mode and it was like a rocket. Couldn't help thinking a D4 would be a permanent grin!

Give it a real blast down the motorway in sport mode and if no joy revisit the dealer.

My D4 190 had the egr cooler revised pipework carried out after the engine check light came on.
I have noticed no difference in performance.
We have always noticed its a little slow accelerating from standstill in 1st gear up to 15 mph , we thought this is due to engine mapping to aid traction.

For me this is common when you buy a car , you just get used to the power and later feel you could do with a little more , Not sure if this is the "Problem" ?

What did they do with the EGR Repair ?
I have found when the EGR is repaired the car goes like a rocket afterwards ...

I am thinking maybe it is me being used to the power now, plus the fact my Sons Leon FR may have different gearing so feels different.
They replaced the EGR valve, pipework & cooler I believe.
Don't get me wrong it still flies when you want it to, but just seems to be a bit less punchy at low revs.

to me the D4 is very punchy from low revs , far more than the old D5 too much so really as with a small throttle depression you can have traction problems with poor tyres , It reminds me of the old 850 T5, quite a beast .

I have read that part of the EGR fix for the D4 is a crafty software update to the engine that modifies the characteristics. Lots of people complaining about low torque at the low end (if I remember rightly).

No , the software updates ended last summer , The fix is a new set of coolant hoses which re route the coolant flow to go through the cooler first .
