Default RIP 2017 V90 Inscription

Driving home from work yesterday afternoon, I was involved in a non fault accident, a car pulled out from bus stop into the side of my car as I was driving past it at between 30-40mph.

Major damage caused to passenger front door which took the impact, and then because I was in motion, went into the back door.

My passenger took a lot of photos of both cars whilst I got the details of the other driver.

From what I can see it needs at least two doors, the B post seems undamaged but there is a scuff mark where the passenger door bent towards it. No sill damage, no airbag deployment, no front end / front wing damage. There are some scratches on the rear wheel arch, but if replaced they would need to be blend into that anyway.

Both doors still open and close fine, and I drove it from the scene back home without any issues showing to the drivedrain.

I do suspect, that given the way things are at the moment it will be written off so that will be the end of this poor V90.

Damage done to other car, front wing, broken headlight and bumper.

If written off, what an ideal candidate to buy back and fix. Two doors from a scrappy and a bit of minor wing/sill repair and paint would likely be less than a grand.

I don't think that will be written off.
That is a repair candidate.

Same happened to my V40CC except it was a van emerging from a side street. I swerved away and the cheeky driver said I was travelling in the wrong lane because the end position of his van was in my original lane and I was in the opposing lane.

All sorted by Volvo Accident Management and I paid nothing. I was expecting to be hit by the Excess but Volvo sorted that.

Wait until your renewal. Yes, you may not have paid an excess, you may retain your NCB and all costs may be covered by a third party insurance company but in insurance terms you've made a claim and you're a greater risk therefore it will cost you. (sorry)

Exactly. My wife did more damage than that hitting our gatepost, she didn't need any help from other road users to wreck a perfectly good V70.

Easy home fix with scrapyard parts that. No airbag deployment means you can do it at home.

Even if written off, that'll be through the auctions and back on the road in weeks.
