Is there anyway to change from miles per hour to kilometres for driving across the channel? Thanks

Yes there is a function to display a digital speedo in the middle of the dials , OFF MPH or KPH , use the rotating collar and READ button on the left stalk , have a look in the owner's manual , a hive of information you wont find anywhere else .

I believe that it depends on what model year your car is, up to MY13 the digital speed reading is locked to the opposite of what the analogue display is but on MY14 onwards I think you can set the digital display to whatever your preference is (this was the case on the loan V40 I had).

Quote:
The instrument panel display changes to show current speed in mph (miles per hour) if the speedometer is graduated in km/h. If the speedometer is graduated in mph then the dis- play changes to km/h. Regards |

Thanks, I'll have to look for this. I leave mine permanently on the "Power" display atm as I find the digital speed readout essential in the city. But the red is wearing pretty thin....

Have you pressed the OK button on the end of the left stalk? That brought up the correct screen for me. Press that and then rotate the thumb wheel to bring up the correct display.

Letter to Stefan Elfstrom CEO Volvo
Letter & Email to the CEO of Volvo
I thought all who have commented on this thread, lets see if we can shake them up into sorting this out somehow. Come back to me if you want to help. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sir I am sure that you as the man at the top should be aware of the number of your customers who are complaining about this so I am writing to you personally about the situation with Miles to Kilometres on the Volvo V40 As a long term customer of Volvo this whole situation is now becoming silly, I have attached a letter which I wrote basically explains the shortfalls on the Volvo V40. I was looking at various forums on the subject and I am really amazed at how many of your customers are talking about it, I would have expected Volvo to come up with a Solution. Check out http://www.volvov40club.com/forums/1...etres-v40.html http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/archiv.../t-209808.html I am beginning to question if the V40 complies with current EU regulations, whilst I appreciate the V40 does have a small kph display bottom right of speedo I think you must agree if you take a vehicle from the UK to the Continent to drive on that is silly. I am driving to France for the day on Wednesday 22nd June and after this I can confirm my suspicions as to what the displays will show. I dread going to Spain for 5 months. Can I ask you or a senior member of your team to at least read this eMail and attached letter and advise me what if anything Volvo is doing about this silly situation. I love my Volvo V40 but most of the electronic features I will have to switch off. Please acknowledge this eMail |
