Default Intermittant starting issue

Hi all just a quick question about my 99 V70 xt auto every now and then it can take 2 or 3 attempts to start the engine and sometimes it will stall immediately after its started. I was thinking suspect coil pack or maybe the inhibitor switch (pnp) ?? any thoughts ??

for it to stall all the coil packs would have to be faulty, any codes stored? if u havent had them read yet get them done with VCT2000 or vida dice

my experience with MAfs they just run erratically, rough, loose power, fuel consumption goes thro the floor.

when it does start does it run on all 5 cylinders?? or does it start on 3/4 then onto 5?

runs on all 5 m8 when it wont start it dosent sound like its struggling to start it simply turns over and over if that makes sense but once you turn the ignition off and try again it will fire first turn of the key no probs, thats what made me think of the pnp switch

Immobilizer aerial around the ignition switch is probably on its way out, classic signs are when the engine starts and shuts down instantly, often being difficult to start on the next attempt - Mike

Cheers Mike would that involve a new ignition switch ? one other thing I've noticed is that it sometimes feels like its going to stall ( it never has ) when approaching standstill at a junction but then picks up the revs again, maybe these are separate issues but obviously getting codes read is a priority
