ECU for J reg 940 URGENT
On Thursday I broke down on a horrendously busy roundabout on A40 near Heathrow .. absolute nightmare! Fuel pumps and injectors are not receiving any power.Garage seems pretty sure the ECU has failed. Can anyone lead me to a replacement that is not going to cost so much that I just have to scrap this otherwise excellent car? It's Bosch .. part no 0227 400 176
Thanks |

Fuel pump relay is a more likely candidate

+1. This is a common failure point but easy to fix.
Normally it is due to a dry joint on the relay's pcb and can be fixed by re-soldering the connections.

Agreed with the fuel pump relay, we've had a few of these ECU's come in and it almost always turns out that the ECU is working perfectly fine.. costing the customer and unnecessary test fee.
If it is the ECU, then call us Monday on 0208 853 3343 and someone will quote you to have your own unit tested & repaired with 12months warranty - can't remember off hand the cost to repair these. Goodluck. |

I too would put money on the Fuel injector relay (behind the ashtray in the relay tray)
But alternatively IF the ECU is shot......... http://www.the-ecu-doctor.co.uk/ Who WILL be able to give you an inclusive cost to repair your own, and you won't have any possible re-programming issues.
