Angry Disc Guard

Please can anyone tell me if it is possible to remove the Disc guards from the front brakes of a s40 2.0D to eliminate getting stones caught and stop squeeling/scraping noises as all the roads around me are being resurfaced with chippings and its getting really annoying. cheers

Default disk gaurd

cut a hole in the bottom lip of the disk gaurd, this allows trapped stones to escape

Keep us informed on the progress with this. They look a site and have caused more problems than id imaging there supposed to prevent. Is there any real purpose to them anyway?

I had a stone or something bend it onto the disc, I too wondered what its purpose was.

Thanks Clan.
