The problem is that the car was imported from the UK. I have 3 questions that I'm hoping to get help with:
- Has anyone had success getting support from Volvo Ireland or Volvo UK for ERAD repairs with a car this old? If so, what is the best way to approach them?
- There is an opportunity to buy a complete second hand ERAD from a 2021 car for a fraction of the cost above. Has anyone replaced the unit themselves, without going through a Volvo main dealer?
- I understand that there is a newer ERAD model shipped from 2021 onwards. Can anyone tell me what the part number is for the newer model and is it compatible with my 2016 model?
Thanks in advance! Happy to listen to any other suggestions.

My two peneth worth is that 6 5k Euro is very toppy for an erad repair. In the UK it would cost about 3k GBP so would expect maybe no more than 4k Euro in IRL.
