Default Start/Stop D3 V70 2010

I've recently acquired a 2010 V70 having sold my earlier 2001 version. It has the Start/Stop facility, which works rarely. The previous owner said that he had let the battery go low, so to be on the safe side I installed a new main battery.

The Start/Stop worked immediately after the battery was fitted but not anymore. I get a low battery warning every now and again as well.

I've searched this forum and read about software fault that has not been solved by Volvo and that disconnecting the battery would reset the system. I tried disconnecting the main battery, but this did not solve it.

Is it safe to disconnect both batteries or is there any other wisdom out there that I should try.

Many thanks
