[02 s60]Drain from fuse 32, cem module
I have an 2002 s60, and suddenly my battery is dead over night.
To pinpoint the problem i have come to the following; Batt disconnected overnight, the batt keeps its charge for over 2 weeks. Alternator & starter are not draining (both disconnected and measured drain) When battery is dead, it does get charged after a 15 min drive I have an 1.6 amp drain on the battery when fuse 32 on fuse box passenger side is plugged in, 0,2 when disconnected. 0.1 when car is shutdown for 20 mins. This corresponds with thr drain I measure when the ammeter is test over fuse 32 in the fuse box itself. I am aware that a lot of people have a drain in fuse 28 as well but this is because every time you reconnect the battery ie plugging in an ammeter, the rooflight will turn on. If you turn these off, drain is zero on fuse 28(hence UAM doesn't draw either). I have checked the regular lights like boot and glove box, any other lights i might have missed? Fuse 32 is the CEM, ECPS, courtesy lamps, glove box. Fyi, i have the common alarm siren fault, but disconnecting fuse 38(alarm siren) doesn't solve the drain on fuse 32. My sunroof isn't working either. Vida only gives me the siren fault: alarm sensor not working, corroded, false wire. Could my alarm siren, which has been broken for over 2 yeras affect fuse 32 if it doesnt draw any current on its own fuse? I did notice that when i run the car without fuse 32 my dashboard isnt working, but unplugging the dash didn't reduce the draw. Anything else connected to fuse 32 I could check? I downloaded a wire diagram for an 2005 s60 which refers to a cem fuse box as well. I can't find it in my car, (underneath steering wheel), is there such fuse box in a 2002 s60, so I can pinpoint what exactly behind fuse 32 is draining? Only thing i can think of is that before the problem i sprayed lock deicing in the boots mechanics as it wouldn't lock at minus 4 degrees celcius. But could that draw a current if the lock isn't being used? Thanks for your help. Last edited by bruderoc; Mar 17th, 2015 at 12:41. |
