Thanks to you all and its sound advice I know.
I will have the car welded to mot standards for the convenience of moving it from workshop to workshop but hopefully the patch to allow mot will be temporary and new inner and outer sills as required will be fitted along with new wings eventually and hopefully a quality respray in future years. I will work towards this so in the meantime the mot is first followed by the suspension. Next year hopefully I can do this car justice by replacing the wings etc and hopefully secure a realistically priced respray although I know it will be a few £000 to have it right. Final result will hopefully be a good representation of a nice 144S. So many have suggested that this is the wrong type of car to spend so much time and money on but its special to me having been in the family since day one so hopefully I can prove them wrong.
