When is AWD not AWD ?
Hi
I've recently ordered a D4 R-Design Lux Nav AWD (pickup in Jan ) having made the move from an X1 with the Xdrive system. Having 2 young'us the X1 just wasn't upto the task as it was/is on the small/narrow side. Owned an XC70 2.4 Driv-e before that which was a great family motor hence our shift back to Volvo. My better half prefers the security offered by a 4wd system hence our choice above. I like the fact that the BM's system was permanent 4wd, with a 60/40 split. I noticed and needed it's help over the 3.5yrs of ownership. I've read a couple of stories online where Volvo owners have got stuck in snowy car parks mostly due to the AWD not doing it job and sending power to the rears. I'm now wondering if I've made the right choice with this AWD system. How have you all found the AWD system to be? Worth it weight? Cheers Steve |
