Most good remaps don't effect MPG unless you use the extra power. None of them will increase the MPG, although it is possible to do that slightly by bypassing the warm up resistor in the ECU with a manual choke switch. Quite a common mod on taxi cars as it gets the engine into lean burn mode during the warm up, BUT it does result in stalls if you lift off the go pedal when it's still cold.
