Default Subwoofer in the trunk

Hi guys,

I own a 940 2.0 Turbo SW of 1997 and I wonder if anybody in this forum has ever tried to put a shallow mount subwoofer in the under-trunk.

I want to install a subwoofer but I do not want to compromise with the loading space, so it has to go down there.

So far, I saw that Pioneer manufactures a spare wheel subwoofer but I have no idea how it works and I am a bit suspicious because no other manufacturer really followed that path.

Alternatively, shallow mount subs can be found, under 4", but I am not sure if the thickness of the hatch (half inch) is enough to keep that weight and/or prevent any vibration.

That is why I am looking for somebody who has attempted this before me

Thank you!
Alex
