Belt change options
My V70 2.4 is having it's 10th birthday in a few months and is approaching the 100k miles mark too, so it is almost due an auxiliary belt and cam belt change.
My local Volvo garage have quoted me £507 to change both. This includes a new tensioner for both belts. They say a new water pump in not necessary. Having spent £250 on a new steering lock module, £300 on a new inlet manifold (that exploded!) 4 new discs and 8 pads and a new windscreen (due to the infamous leak) It's a lot of money I've spend recently so I'm looking for options to save. 1) a local garage willing to do a good job for a more reasonable price 2) I will do it myself if it's not too complicated and there is a good guide I can follow, How easy or difficult is the job? Many thanks
