Take the bulb holders for the reverse lamps out Mark, remoe the bulbs and clean the bulb contacts and also those in the holder, particularly where the bulbholder contacts make with the PCB contacts on the back of the lamp cluster.

Also worth "stretching" those contacts on the bulbholder to make sure there is good pressure on them when they are reinstalled.

While you have the bulbholders and bulbs out, check the bulbs actually work in the holders, it's unusual but it could be both bulbs have blown.

Also check the eart connections to the cluster, usually there's an earth point in the cubby hole below the clusters.
