Default Cem interchangeability?

Hi all, I'm going to do the checks later but I'm pretty sure my cem has packed up as I've lost a headlight and it's not the bulb, but just wondering if the one from my 02 t4 would fit my 52 2.0, I know both cars are P2, however, the dash clocks and ignition key in the t4 are the same early style as my 99 P1 had, and the se has the later style with the Speedo and rev counter on the opposite sides, plus this car has the flip key, unlike the t4, which has the seperate fob and regular key, I may well be barking up the wrong tree here, but while I've got the t4 sat there doing nothing I figure it's worth a shot.

EDIT: Just did the multimeter test, just over 12v with no bulb plugged in at the holder, 0v with it plugged in.

If the cem from the t4 won't fit then is there anything stopping me from buying a simple relay and using the feed from the other side headlight to trigger it?

Thanks in advance
