Aircon pump
As suspected by myself and others, my air con pump on the V40 1.9D does appear to be seized.
Belt finally snapped today which was no surprise as it came with a new one in the boot when I bought it... Turned all the pulleys, alt and PS pump and they all turn freely. AC pump is stiff to turn. Lubricated it best I could and unplugged it to stop it being inadvertently activated as a temporary fix. I know there is a modification to use a shorter belt and bypass the pump but I'd rather fix it properly if possible. Are the pumps reasonably easy to change over and are they easy to get hold of (as in, are they compatible with other models)? Had very little fun changing the belt, wasn't a job I enjoyed!
