Aftermarket subwoofer remote power
Hiyya,
So much like the title says, I've previously installed an aftermarket subwoofer on my V50 -04 (using a high-low signal converter and a lot of tweaking around), but finally got it to work. Our plan was to hook onto the rear light cable to provide the subwoofer with a remote signal, which seems to work when the key is in the 2nd position in the car (Lights go from OFF to ON), but once we start the car, it loses the signal (Lights have at this point gone from OFF, to ON, to OFF, to ON as they do when starting the car).
The fix wasn't much more painful than hooking it onto a switch and having the switch in the cabin of the car, but it is getting cumbersome. Local technicians say there are no other options with these cars, but I were wondering if anyone here have any general ideas? The car does NOT (to my knowledge) have the large audio package and as such no "built in" subwoofer.
