Technicians dipstick - putting back in
I have managed to remove the dipstick (rope plus a squirt of WD40), and have sucked out some oil as a regen caused the level to rise. It was serviced recently but I suspect that put the full 5.7 litres in, which was before the dpf regen cycle.
I don't seem to be able to get the dipstick fully home again, i.e. flush with the block. It pulls out easily now, but that may be due to the oil now around the o ring. I have pushed it down with a long piece of wood, and even given it a tap with a hammer. I would say it is about 2mm up from the boss on the block to the face of the dipstick top. Is this OK/normal? Don't want it blowing out! Engine is 2014 D3 5 cyl. |
