Cannot install isofix bracket: missing hole in chassis
Hi,
I purchased an isofix kit for the rear passenger seat of my Volvo S40 MY1997. The kit was purchased from Volvo with part nr 30618404. I had no issue installing the left bracket but struggle with the right bracket. This bracket must be attached with two bolts. The lower bolt can be attached properly but for the upper bolt, there is no matching hole in the chassis. I don't get it, the kit is supposedly compatible with my car (I checked in VADIS and there is nothing saying the brackets cannot fit a MY1997). I'm talking about the bracket appearing on the right of tis image: The image is upside down so the hole that has no match on the chassis is the one on the bottom of the image. On the chassis, it is supposed to sit on a metal plate behind the lower portion of the rear seat backrest. The metal plate is there but it has no hole in it... I'm up to the point if drilling a hole myself and putting a nut behind so that I can attach this bracket properly. But this doesn't appear as the safest option... Any idea how I should proceed? Is this kit not compatible with a MY1997 without Volvo dealers/VADIS not knowing about it? Last edited by kilou; Mar 21st, 2021 at 05:59. |
