More bodgery to fix...
It never ceases to amaze me just how reckless or careless people can be....
To re-cap - bought a C70 from another forum member last year - to be clear this last owner lavished love and attention on the car but all sorts happened in the previous years. Latest bodge - whilst trying to diagnose a knock sensor fault code, I notice an lose terminal near the starter (pic 1). After much looking - turns out someone has run another battery cable to the starter and bypassed the original which is just hanging there at both ends. As it's lose, it's rubbing on the charge pipe and it's gone through the insulation (pic3). If it wasn't for the fact that the charge pipe is metal but connected to rubber hoses at each and and hence not grounded, that would probably have been a fire................. Another job to do.
