Doesn’t sound like the garage knew what they were doing. The level should of been reset. If you have not driven 20 miles yet the gauge will update then with the new level.

As to the noise, I’ve never owned a BMW but yes the 5 cylinders can sound a little agricultural at times. I wouldn’t be worrying yourself unnecessarily they are good strong engines. Try and get your faults sorted out and enjoy it.

I would strongly recommend finding a Volvo specialist to look after it. Normal garages just don’t know how to deal with these cars or that’s generally the rule and certainly my experience.
