Default VOLVO 940 1994 sensor issues NW UK

Hello I have a 1994 Volvo 940 wentworth. 80k on the clock clean engine bay runs like a dream when it runs. Unfortunately it has had issues not starting. I took it to a local garage and after a long time of trying different stuff he figured out it was the crank shaft sensor which he replaced and it ran fine again for a few months. Now it won’t start again and I feel like it’s the same issue but he doesn’t have time to look at it and every mechanic in my town (Todmorden) is up to their necks so I could really do with finding someone who knows these cars in the surrounding area or somehow learning to fix it myself. I have very limited knowledge of car mechanics but I’m a fast learner. Is there anyone out there who can help? A good classic Volvo mechanic in the new area ? Someone who can give me some knowledge to do it myself? Anything I’d be so grateful to anyone who can give me a hand I want to keep this beast on the road I know it’s got a lot more mileage in it. Thanks
