Help 80,0000 mile service
I have a 1998 1.9td V40 and Volvo have just quoted £330 for the 80,000 mile service.
On enquiry this is a "standard service + oils and filters" My reply "That seems rather a lot for a basic service, are you sure thats all you do?" Response "It breaks down to £121 for labour the rest is oils and filters" Now I think £330 is close to extortion, it's absolutely criminal to charge this for very basic maintenance procedures. Does any one have the service sheet for the 80,000 mile service so I can get a mechanic I trust to work on the vehicle. (I have a very good mechanic lined up, just need to know if anything special needs doing) Oh, by the way. I have used my local "independent Volvo specialist" and he is only about 10% cheaper than the franchised dealer. I also don't trust him as he made a hash of the servicing last time. |
