If you're looking at new the US XC90 only comes with the 3.2L six, no turbo or V-8. I just purchased a 2011 XC60 and I'm getting 21 mpg average city/highway. It's the same engine as in the 90 but the 60 weighs much less and is more agile. We test drove both and the 90 just had too much body roll vs. the very sporty 60. Also if you're looking to buy new the T6 XC60 is sporting 300 hp and the 3.2 up to 240 hp. Plenty of pep and much better gas mileage. If you choose the XC90 get the R-design to get the 19 inch wheels and sport suspension; helps control the mushiness of the standard 90. Good luck either way. Check out my pics on my thread.
