V40 1.9TD SE ( 2004 ) with "misfire"
Can anyone help please.
My V40 ( 133.6KMiles ) has been running great, but not now. Its service history is 1st 80K miles done by dealership, but therafter by local reputable garage. In recent days its developped what seems like a misfire. If it were a petrol i'd think it had a plug on the way out or an eht lead problem .. but its diesel !! Fuel economy I usually get is a shade over 50mpg. It starts perfectly well, runs OK when litttle or no power is demanded from the engine, but stutters when driving uphill, and daren't try to overtake. I've had it into the local guy today, who tells me that all the injectors are ok, there's no splits in any of the hoses / pipes, and the fuel filter is OK.. Fuel is always bought from same place, Sainsbury's .. so its not as if it's running on chip fat Ideas anyone ? Things that come to mind are fuel pump problem, sensor problem? .... but the local guy says I need to take it to Volvo to get it on their machine... any ideas what this might cost to get it on the diagnostic .. bit concerned as main dealer charges aren't what you'd call cheap. I only moved away from main dealer servicing because I simply couldn't afford to keep it going. |
