Intermittent power lose resulting in not starting
My volvo s40 2006 2.0d has developed an intermitting problem which it would lose power to the point of stalling but would then fire back up straight away. The other day however it failed to start and felt like there was fuel starvation, the computer diagnosic flagged up the EGR Valve which need to be replaced, after replacing this value the car would still not start. So i now been reduced to guest work, would a fault EGR valve prevent a car from starting firstly, and is it just a case that the system needs a good priming first, or is it the injector pump (as the garage has suggested) or blockage in the tank that would prevent the car from starting. Any help would be gratefully recieved as this is driving me mad.
