S70 before buying
Hi, I'm thinking of buying S70. Haven't yet decided for sure, but it seems that I'll choose TDi. What are common problems, what should I check before buying it and what should I be ready to do in future (for example, replace something every xx miles, or so).
Thanks in advance. |

RE: S70 before buying
I've had my 98' S70 TDi for 50k miles now and below is a list of things that needed doing
New electric aerial mast New rear light switch New front wheel bearing at 40k miles New front wheel bearing at 65k miles Major work on the air con system (leeking evaporator) at 70k miles Other than the usual 10k services, brake pads and tyres, thats it. Starts every time, returns good mpg and will cruise at highly illegal speeds on the motorway without breaking a sweat. In my case, most of the above (except for the aerial & light switch) have been covered by warranty. As with all S70s, look for the service history and the other usual bits and if it's high milage, don't forget the cam belt at 80k miles. |
