XC60 Cabin Fuses Access
Just installed a dash cam in my MY18 XC60 so needed access to the cabin fuses to pick up a permanent supply. What a PITA!
How can anyone pass a design for somethings that are in the owner’s manual as user serviceable items and then hide those items in a box behind a carpet, requires the removal of three trim panels to get access to and puts a lid on it them is itself very difficult to remove. On my car, the carpet wouldn’t move down sufficiently far enough for the lid, once unclipped at the back, itself requiring a lot of effort, to hinge the lid back . Consequently the hinge covers at the nearer edge broke. Fortunately this isn’t a big problem as when clipped back in at the front edge the carpet holds the lid in place anyway once it’s all put back together. I hope in the future I never have to replace one of these fuses when my only option is to kneel on wet ground and it’s peeing down! Even if you give the design task to someone still wet behind the ears in the first place surely someone should then quality control that piece of work before it goes to production. Badly done Volvo. Rant over but I hate bad design especially on what is supposed to be a premium product! Last edited by wynnj; Feb 19th, 2024 at 19:13. |
