Yikes, need tiny hands - Parking bulb failure
Hi folks,
I have an S60 with a message telling me the parking bulb has gone. Looked at front of car and the near side bulb is out. Went to get a replacement and its the tiny push fit type about as big as a thumb nail. Only thing is, I have took the round rubber off from under the bonnet and I cant get at it. It loks to me that there's a secret technique or the blinding light housing has come out. Any clues would really be appreciated. |

The side light bulb is in the dipped beam compartment inboard of the headlight bulb. to get at it its easier to remove the air filter box from its mountings and move it out of the way, but it can be done without this. The round plastic cover for the bulbs turns anti-clockwise to remove. The sidelight bulb holder is a push fit in the headlight and just pulls out to replace the push fit bulb. Obviously, refitting is the reverse of removal.

I would recommend marking the top centre of the bulb cover before removing, a blob of correction fluid is good and easily seen. There are markings on the back of the cover but they are difficult to see because of lack of space and usually covered with a hand!
Have fun and stock up on plasters. |

I thought it's maybe easier if I take the headlight out.
Am I being a 'tool' here? It's a 2006 S60 by the way. Thanks for any help |

I'm guessing you good gents are talking about later S60s?
Because parking light bulbs on my 2003 S60 are actually quite easy to get at. Front indicators however are another story..

Yes my Friend, its a 2006 and the hole is sooo tiny when you take the rubber cover off. I can't get my hands down there either.

Makes a mental note, don't go buying a newer S60 when this one is due for replacement
