It is nothing short of joyful to see the quality of this work and watch the rebirth of this car. Respect!

Goodness Gordon, I thought you were only going to wash and T-cut it.

It's funny how life conspires to put a stop to progress!
Between the teachers strike (kids at home today), a day in a jacuzzi and extra work demands, there has been no progress this week. I'll be back on it as soon as I can... |

Strewth, you wouldn't believe how hard it's been just to get into the workshop again! 'Amazon day' turned into 'boiler man / admin nightmare day', but thankfully I still managed to get an hour or so in.
Anyhow, I am going to need to effect some repairs to the chassis rail behind the trailing arm mounting bracket on the near (passenger) side. There is a small hole and some rot on the chassis just visible at the top of the bracket... 001.jpg The floorpan also needs some new steel here... 002.jpg I could have bodged the chassis rail with some filler rod, but I suspected that the whole area behind has some further repair necessary and so decided to remove this section of chassis to check it out properly... 005.jpg As I suspected. Years of stress and moisture mean I'll need to remake this whole section... 003.jpg 004.jpg |
