This is bringing back memories with 2 of you going a similar route to us . Her indoors actually added the bill up for everything including purchase price and boy is it scary but then we would not have an as new amazon estate that will be with us for years to come . The worst bit is realising those bits of trim etc that looked ok don't when placed next to shiny new paintwork and knowing that you can buy it all shiny new adds to the cost .
Keep the pics coming and remember seeing your car in bare metal means you know whats under that shiny paint , it's well worth it in the end .

cheers gillberry, yep youre right,it does all add up to a huge amount, but as you know the car has huge family sentimental value and will never be sold,so like you say,an investment to last many years.
speaking of which.... got these last week for it from brookhouse, even more new rubbers!! both rear side window rubbers, and the one that runs inside of the rear opening, behind the upper and lower tailgates. had these sat in the garage for about a year now, knew id eventually need them! full set of new bumpers/overiders from harrington, they had a bit of a sale on at the time, the quality of the finish is superb, and being stainless will last a lot longer than chrome. |

Stainless bumpers!!!! I'm jealous.
Are you going to be putting the rubber in the rear doorway? I had trouble with mine, partly because there was a lot of paint in it I think, but is there some special tool? I used this device for installing screen windows - kind of like a pizza cutter. What colour? James |
