PW Cars - Slough
Evening all!
I had a 100K service done at Phil Whitaker Cars in Slough today - thought that others fairly local to the area would be interested in some feedback on them. They are independant Volvo specialists and I haven't used them before. I was very impressed by the service - they were efficient and polite. I was given a free courtesy car, they called my office to confirm that the car was ready and upon my return someone sat down with me and explained the service report and recommendations. A refreshing change form some garages that I have used where the staff are off hand and treat cusomers as though they are doing them a favour by charging sky high prices! I'm pleased to have found a (fairly) local garage that I can have some confidence in. Have a good BH weekend everyone. Regards Ian |

Hi Ian,
They sound well up to the standard you might expect of a main dealer. It may be a help to those living local to this garage if you posted how much the service cost. Regards, T |

Good point T
I paid approx. £400 for the 100K service, new dashboard light bulbs fitted (halogen) and new headlamp reflectors fitted. Compared to what the Ford main dealer charged for my Ford KA this seemed pretty reasonable. Regards Ian |

RE: PW Cars - Slough
Hello again, Ian,
All things considered, (the services they provide, etc.)I suppose that is reasonable; though, to be honest, considerably more than I would like to be paying. Then again, not everyone is lucky enough to have a 22 year time-served Volvo man living around the corner (and I do consider myself very lucky in that respect). My last major service, using all original Volvo parts, including timing belt, fan belt, power steering belt, inline fuel filter and complete coolant change, (in addition to the usual service items and checks, etc.) came to £123. Ridiculously good value, I think. Regards, T |

Hi, PWs give a service discount to VOC members - there is a list of companies that provide discounts to members that I have posted in the performance section.
