I have a V70 1 that has a old Bendini LPG conversion and I have had 180K trouble free miles since the conversion. But the engine management light has always been on since the conversion, the installation company tried and tried but were unable to get this light off!!

I'm now hearing that this is an instant MOT failure as from 2012, can anybody verify this? Also what options does this leave me with, could I MOT the car on petrol (light stays off if reset and run on petrol only)?

Don't want to be left with a car that has been running without problems for years that fails its MOT.

Thank you.

Chris

Yes it will become a fail as of then. If the light stays off on petrol then it will pass if you present the car running on petrol with the light cleared.

Over 10 years before sequential systems came out the way you did these was to fit an obd fix. This would keep the light off and keep the fuel trims right for when you switch back to petrol. Bedini being a very low budget system probably did not have a fix available.
