The pump timing must be at a particular position when the cambelt is changed on the Audi diesel engine, this might explain why its not running right now:

Hello all, Update... Great bloke Flatstick (Steve) kindly sold me his bsr ppc . Got home plugged in, cleared codes, the flashing arrow on dash which appeared after I had changed the gearbox fluid now disappeared but engine management light was still on... So I read codes again, only 1 code appeared 003. Looking at the error code sheet I got back from the Volvo specialists, one of the codes I saw was
0003 NEEDLE LIFT SENSOR, FAULTY SIGNAL - INTERMITTENT INJECTOR FAULT Now,,, on inspecting the needle lift sensor wire, I decided I was going to give the plug a good clean. I traced the wire and found the plug awkwardly behind the fuel pipes and to my surprise it came apart in my hand. Turned out that when the new injectors were installed, the mechanic must not have pushed the metal bar on the female side of the plug that locks the connection in place, hence the intermittent fault. After connecting the plug properly, clearing the code with the bsr ppc and replacing the rubber fuel pipes cus of leakage, to my total shock, amazement and JOY!!!... my lovely Volvo now runs as sweet as a nut and as of this month is now back cruzin the streets The bsr ppc saved my car from the scrap yard!!! Cheers Steve!!!!! Thank you to all who have posted replies to help, you are all very kind!!!!! So glad I didn't get rid !!!!! Last edited by Scoff; Nov 4th, 2011 at 22:51. Reason: forgot a bit |
