Its also probably worth mentioning that my little caravan is only 1030kg so not the biggest around. I didn't want to start on something like a twin axle 6 berth lol!

The last time we went caravanning was 1988 and we have a picture of our daughter in full snow suit.... in August!

Just to update you. I'm sorted, I ended up going with a 2lt V60. Well you only live once...

I had a test drive and it seems a lovely car. I've never driven an estate before, now I feel like a real caravanner!!

Thank you again for the help.

Its the D3 which of course is the diesel engine. Ten months old with 15000 on the clock so just a baby in Volvo terms. I will miss the C30 as its been a great little car but I will admit it is hugely impractical.

Sounds like a nice car! I must admit i was very tempted to splurge some savings on a brand new one! But got chicken and didnt lol

FWIW, your 1030kg caravan would have been just find and dandy behind a 1.6D V50. That's the kind of weight smaller Diesel towcars are pulling these days.

But the V60 will make very easy work of it with room to upgrade later! a "Volvo for life"

Absolutely a Volvo for life. I can 'grow' into this one should I choose to move up to a larger caravan. It does look like a sexy piece of machinery, i'm looking forward to bombing all over in it lol!
