S80 airbag warning light
The airbag warning light has made an appearance on my dash display this week and the display states 'SRS airbag service urgent'. Is this likely to be an actual fault or is it just a periodic warning which can be switched off and if so how?
Car is a 99 model but it has just passed 51,000 miles (genuine). No other systems are affected. Obviously don't want to take the car into Volvo unless I have to as they have a habit of charging more than I've got every time. May take it in for an early mot before the warning light becomes a fail on 31st March if it's going to be an expensive fix. Thanks in advance, Alan |

Many thanks mate. Needless to say this has come at a most unwelcome time being just after Christmas and a few days after the house roof was blown off onto our beloved 1990 Nissan 300ZX which is now at the hands of a repair shop.
Can a reset tool be bought cheaply from the likes of ebay or is it an expensive tool which only garages would have? |
